Waterworld; The next wave in water analytics

De Sectie Analytische Chemie van de KNCV en de Hogeschool Van Hall Larenstein nodigen u van harte uit voor The Analytical Challenge 2026. Ook dit jaar komen we weer samen voor een aantal lezingen en discussie over een hedendaags analytisch-chemisch onderwerp. Het thema dit jaar is “Waterworld; The next wave in water analytics”. Een snelle, efficiente en betrouwbare analyse van o.a. PFAS en microplastics in afval of oppervlakte water is in de (water) wereld van nu van toenemend belang.
We hebben een aantal interessante sprekers bereid gevonden te vertellen over de manier waarop zij uiteenlopende analytische technieken gebruiken voor betrouwbare analyses in hun onderzoeksgebied. Dit varieert van methoden voor de gevoelige bepaling van PFAS en microplastics tot nieuwe analytische inzichten voor de behandeling van afvalwater.
De bijeenkomst vindt plaats op woensdag 4 maart 2026 op de Hogeschool Van Hall Larenstein, Agora 1, 8934 CJ in Leeuwarden. De hogeschool is lopend te bereiken (15 min) vanaf het treinstation, of met het openbaar vervoer vanaf het busstation (naast het NS station) met lijn 320 (halte Huizemerlaan). Op het plein voor de hogeschool (achter de slagboom) is voldoende plaats voor bezoekers met de auto. Deelname (incl. koffie/thee, lunch en borrel) is gratis. The Section Analytical Chemistry of the KNCV and the Van Hall Larenstein University of Applied Sciences kindly invite you to The Analytical Challenge 2026. We are gathering again for a number of presentations and for discussions about a contemporary analytical chemical topic. The theme of this year is “Waterworld; The next wave in water analytics”. A fast, efficient and reliable analysis of PFAS and microplastics in waste or surface water is of increasing importance in today's (water) world.
We have found interesting speakers willing to willing to share their perspectives on how they use a variety of analytical techniques for reliable analyses in their research areas. These range from methods for the sensitive determination of PFAS and microplastics to new analytical insights for wastewater treatment.
The symposium takes place on Wednesday March 4th, 2026, at the Van Hall Larenstein University of Applied Science, Agora 1 in Leeuwarden. The university is on walking distance from the train station (15 min) or easily accessible via public transport from the bus station (next to the train station) with line 320 (stop: Huizemerlaan). When you arrive by car, you can park your car on the square in front of the university (behind the barrier). Participation (including coffee/tea, lunch and a reception) is free.
